Cynthia pursued her love of literature at the University of Texas, earning her BA in English. Her focus on journalism led to a stint at the student newspaper, The Daily Texan, as a copy editor, page layout designer and occasional cartoonist for the comics section. While in grad school, she began writing for the paper and received her master’s degree from UT’s Creative Advertising program.

By day, she works in digital media at an Austin ad agency and moonlights as a magazine writer. When she is not writing, Cynthia pursues her other passions: yoga and music. She is a 200-hour certified Hatha yoga teacher and enjoys playing bass guitar in sporadic tribute bands, covering artists ranging from Patty Griffin to the Misfits.

Below you'll find a sampling of blog posts and some of her most recently published articles.
